Iran maestro to join FFF with 3 films

Iranian music maestro Karen Homayounfar has set to participate at the 36th Fajr Film Festival (FFF) with three films.

Homayounfar has composed the music for the FFF participants ‘Flight in the Levant Time’, ‘Cold Sweat’ and ‘The Dark Room’.

‘Flight in the Levant Time’ by Ebrahim Hatamikia focuses on security threat by terrorists when an Iranian plane, conveying humanitarian aids to Syria, is challenged in Damascus Airport.

Directed by Soheil Beiraqi, ‘Cold Sweat’ enjoys Baran Kosari’s appearance as a female futsal player.

“Farhad and Haleh have begun their new season, and this is the beginning of some other changes that will push them into new circumstances," a synopsis of ‘The Dark Room’ reads.

Homayounfar's professional career began in 1994 in film industry, where he composed at least 30 movies and TV series scores and was awarded twice for best music composition at various film events in Iran and abroad.

Established in 1982, the Fajr Film Festival celebrates cultural exchange, displays creative achievements of highly acclaimed cineastes and pays tribute to local and international films.

Since its establishment, the Fajr Film Festival has played a vital role in the development of Iranian Cinema.

Supervised by Iran’s Ministry of Culture, the festival hosts veteran directors and new filmmakers from Iran every year.

The 36th edition of the Fajr Film Festival is slated for February 1-11, 2018, in Tehran.
